OK, Here's my boggle:

I only have time this weekend to see two movies. Of the movies out, I am torn between THREE:

Pirates of the Caribbean
Terminator 3
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Why did you like each one?

No spoilers please, but basically the kind of stuff I've seen in trailers would be fine.

Thank you in advance!

I definately recommend Terminator 3.

It wasn't in the same exact vein as Terminator 1 & 2, but I felt it stood very strongly. It didn't try to exceed itself in terms of what it could handle in the time alloted, nor by stretching the characters or the mythology of the series too thin.

I know that sounds abstract, so I'll just say that it was better than all of the pre-release reviews I read trashing it. It was a solid movie, and definately worth seeing!

Go see Pirates and League. Then let me know how they are... ;)

(I'm expecting T3 to be pretty much like T2 but with all the FX available today..which is fine by me.)

Terminator 3: What did I like?

The film was actually enjoyable without James Cameron directing. I expected it to be horrible.

It was a non-stop action flick that actually had story structure and decent dialogue. I did not get that from the other action films I have seen like Hulk and The Matrix Reloaded.

The chemistry between Nick Stahl and Claire Danes. The movie's ending leaves open the possibility of more sequels featuring these two and I would love to see them back.

I loved that you got to find out what happened to John Conner and I'm not talking about him becoming a huge leader. No spoilers as you asked, but it made a great deal of sense on what news the Terminator has for John regarding his fate.

I'd tell you to go see this film if you liked the first two Terminators or if you like action films.

Pirates of the Caribbean What did I like?

Depp, Depp, Depp. Johnny Depp gives a fantastic performance in this film. His entrance into the movie is priceless and neatly sums up the character who think he's a little bit better than he actually is, but is a great deal better than what people take him for at first glance.

Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley: Okay, every one of these summer movies has the standard romance where the girl is in peril. Few pull it off as interesting. These two do and I thought they gave really great performances on character's that could have been very boring.

It was a decent Pirates movie: Yes, a decent one. Isn't there some curse that says you can't make a decent one? Well, it's been lifted.

The mix: I thought the movie pulled off the fact that it wanted to have action, comedy, romance, and horror. There was enough of a blend in the film mixing all these elements. Not many pictures can pull this off.

It's the best picture I've seen this summer. Period. I had previously given this title to X2, but Pirates is a bit better. How much better? I went to see it with my wife yesterday afternoon. Last night we saw it again with a lady friend of ours. I can't recall the last time I've seen a picture in the theater twice in one day. I think I'd have to go back to Aliens when I was 16.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen What did I like?

I like that I've read reviews and comments and know to stay away from this picture.

Sorry, but I'm not a comics fan and not a fan of any of the actors within the movie. Thus, there is nothing drawing me in and everything I hear is telling me to stay away. If you go see it and enjoy it please let me know. I still won't go see it but I like hearing people have enjoyed films.

I hope you have fun this weekend. If you can only see two movies I'd go with:

Pirates of the Carribean
then
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

I can't offer you any suggestions but I can tell you what I'll be seeing first out of those 3: Pirates, Pirates, Pirates!!! Not to be confused with Pirates of the Caribbean, I'm talking about the musical comedy/adventure starrin.... uh. Okay, I'm really bored. Pirates of the Caribbean it is for me. *Aaaarrrr!*

I want to catch T3 next followed by LXG if I get the chance. I'd love to see all three but that may not happen.

Go with the Pirates, man. All the cool kids are doing it... :p

Actually, what T3 has even more of than FX, which of course it does, is actual stunts involving non computer images, etc. By that I mean, actual car chases, crashes, buildings run into, walls destroyed, etc.

You know, the way we did it back in the old days before all these computer freaks ruined our ability to destroy something for real and call it art. ;)

Seriously, I enjoyed those parts of the movie even more than I did the FX portions.

lol, apparently I am the anti-Mark! :D

LOL! :p

I should make it clear that I enjoyed T2 and expect to see T3 (and on the bug screen!) I expect the other two movies to possibly be good and hope that Henry sees them so I can get his opinion. :D I'll see them, eventually, just not sure if they will be "Big Screen Required" movies. ;)
