Help interpret a phrase for me...

This is a requirement for the Edgemaster PrC from Asgard Magazine 6.

Special:

Proficiency in at least one martial or exotic weapon each of slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning.

I'm confused by the "or" and the "and." How many weapon proficiencies are required here?

So would you say that taking a level of fighter or monk would be sufficient to meet the requirement?

I think you must be proficient with a martial or exotic weapon that deals slashing damage, a martial or exotic weapon that deals piercing damage, and a martial or exotic weapon that deals bludgeoning damage. I also think if there was one weapon that was martial or exotic and that dealt slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage that proficiency with that one weapon would fufill the requirement.
