Help me create a munched out first level halfling

Damn shame you're going with the wizard. I played a halfling cleric of Yondalla once that kicked all sorts of ass. I considered multi-classing him to paladin, but he was just such a badass cleric that it wasn't necessary. I took Protection and Family as domains, I think. Gave him a ridiculous charisma, of course.

Good that your DM is allowing the extremely cheaty Spellcasting Prodigy. Can't complain about getting TWO bonus 1st level spells at 1st level! Not including the specialist bonus.

Maybe next PC. I'm a big halfling fan. I prefer Cyrollalee to Yondalla, but I'm not sure her dogma can be reconciled with the usual adventurer passtime if killing monsters and stealing their stuff.

I'm playing one of those in a PBEM right now, minus the shuriken. Welby may be small, but he can kick ass with the best of them.
