Help me decide what game to run next!

I'd thought of a campaign along these lines once. If I could make a suggestion, perhaps it'd be better to have the Troupe be a group of carnies who perform in a kind of carnival side-show. It'd allow for more performing character types beside simply thespians. Characters could include an acrobat/rogue, a strongman/fighter, a barker/bard, a fire-swallower/sorcerer, an animal-tamer/druid, a fortune-teller/cleric, a mind-reader/psion, etc.

That's a really good idea! And I'm all for monstrous PCs, but in this instance if I allowed one I'm sure I'd see a ton, yet it wouldn't be fair to just offer the option to one player. I'm seriously considering allowing Undead from Zeakaden, however, and simply making sure the party doesn't have more than one.

You should run a monstrous PC game. :D I mean, c'mon, I'll be running two.

Well then, I call dibs on the undead PC! :D
Sorry, I just tend to gravitate towards the more unusual PC options.

I already run a tabletop campaign in RL that keeps me plenty busy as is. I come to the boards so that I can seize the rare opportunity to play. I may run something eventually, but I have no current plans to do so.

So... no tuberculose rakshasa gambler?

What about magic in Rivets?

Unlike magic in Blood Sun where all magic is wild magic, (yeah chew on that one), magic in Rivets is pretty standard. From a roleplaying standpoint a lot of magic uses wires, small circuits, etc. etc. That stuff is cosmetic from a mechanical standpoint, however.

I've left in Druids and Rangers as there are still areas of large, untracked wilderness (that civilization is steadily encroaching upon), and they're nice to play up the conflict of nature versus technology.

What kind of undead are there in Zeakaden? Are there any classes you're excluding or adding in to the setting? How about psionics?

No psionics, the sourcebook I'm planning on using, Sorcery & Steam has an Urban Druid variant I'm planning on using, alongside some firearms rules, etc. But I won't be using that book whole, just some pieces.

As for the kind of Undead in Zeakaden, I haven't totally decided. In the past I've used the Necropolitan template from Libris Mortis but I might need to rethink that.
