Players have returned to the cistern after a trip south to refresh suplies, gather info about the area and bring some dwarven troops to the cistern [ dwarf fighter2, 5 dwarf War2], Calamity beset them as one of pcs[rogue 1/ cleric of Marduk 1-- seperated from the group and cast a spell thus drawing heavy arrow fire the following rounds], 2 of 3 dwarf warhounds and the dwarf barbarian NPC was lost along the way to a warband of orcs. The PCs sent word back to the dwarf community with one of the dwarf warriors a and a warhound while the others took refuge in the cave of a recently slain minotaur.
The player later lost another character [barb2] to the shambling horde of undead dwarves that were muling about the cistern entrence when he chose to combat them without a plan. He charged deep into the mass of undead before the other charaters could create a tactical formation; he was dead in 2 rounds. The rest of thier band fled combat as soon as they realized the folly of the suicidal barbarian they had recently aquired. Also a dwarven warrior was lost to the horde and another was gravely injured as they regrouped into the cistern
