If you have players like mine, there'll be an initial dash for the useful -- things you've expected and are ready for.

And then will come ... the challenges.:)

They will write words on it just to see what you will do.

Words like: "effervescent," "helical," and "deific."
Effervescent: Bubble bath shampoo!
Helical: Twists whatever it is poured on into helix shape (don't use it on that sword, and better not drink it)
Deific: Turns you into a god for one turn (maybe the god of hangovers?)

Creates an "anti-potion" that empties whatever it is poured in. Good as constipation medicine. Don't use on treasure chests. And don't pour it on the floor...

@Mark CMG: Ineffable - beauty potion

@Ed_Laprade: "Die" - each drop turns into a little plastic cube with numbers on it *eg*
"Death" - Flip a coin. Head: Immortal for a short while. Tails: Instant death (has to be swingy enough that you wouldn't want to use it unless the risk is worth it.

@nedjer: Every drop explodes on impact. Impossible to use as a Molotov cocktail, though, because the bottle is sturdy enough not to break when it's thrown (and breaking it would ruin the item anyway)

@Richards
Immortal: DR 100/- for one turn
Invincible: +20 to one Strength check
Orgasmic: Viagra potion
Invisible: as per invisibility spell
Teleporting: teleport to random location (if poured on item, will teleport that item... good luck finding that sword again)
Omniscient: Omniscient for a short moment. Enough to answer one question. Will save or fall unconscious (overloads the mind)

@kitsune9
Hellhole: Pour on the floor, opens a hole that leads to the abyss (roll initiative!)
Demon: Turns you into a demon
Dirge: Mhh... compulsion potion that makes you sing funeral songs
Fertility: ... so that's how half-golems came to exist ...
Tiger: Turns you into a tiger
Chocolate: Chocolate sauce
Earwax: Liquid that tastes like earwax (eww)

[sblock=Spoiler - Origin of the item]The flask is the prison of a djinn. Write "free / freedom" on it an he is freed. Of course, he'll try to make each effect as useful as possible to make the user keep writing words. Each use sets his home under water, though, so if you use it too often, he'll get annoyed and turn against you[/sblock]

That's the ticket!

Improvise away.

Fertility: ... so that's how half-golems came to exist ..
In my first online game, two PCs wanted to have children. One was male and one was female, so no problem there. But one was a tabaxi and the other a tran (a race from Alan Dean Foster novels). So, I devised the Median Mixture. When two individuals of opposite gender drink of it, they become viable with one another, for a time.

Doesn't work, Ambrosia is food, not a liquid :P

Or, it would just create a drink that is very tasty. It also stops ageing - very powerful, but few heroes die from old age anyway. It would make the item highly sought after, though.

What I'd try myself:
Heal
Antidotei
Life
Resurrect
Dragon
Levelup
Elminster
Mystra
Wizard
Rich
Earth
Reality
