I guess I am kind of curious as to how their home plane is sidereal. Is it full of stars? Located in the stars? What?
Thank you for some feedback! I'm looking for any kind of response to help my creative juices flowing (ew!). Your question on why I call Faerie Realms sidereal got me going - so thanks!
Above and below the material world is heaven/hell - and the stars are focused through these (heaven/hell), channeling magic and distorting space on the middle/material world. These distortions are the Faerie Realms - each a unique realm associated with large enough land masses and constellation. Faerie is not physically bound to the world except as a stellar distortion. As the world/constellation change position relative to each other, conditions change in that realm. A major change in a faerie realm (the prime species being slain/ replaced), demonic influences, etc - would result in a new constellation taking that realm over - a change visible in the night sky.
Note: heaven/hell/elemental planes/material world are all physically connected - you could travel w/out magic to these planes/places.
Faerie is bound to the stars, only touching at points due to stellar connections - and is beyond the control of the material world
The Shadow Land is the closest thing I have to the ethereal - it overlaps the material world, sometimes these lands overlapping.
The Dream Lands are temporary areas created by local conditions and generally very brief - they follow their own rules.
