Help me find a flower

I need to find out the name of a flower a lady friend I have likes. She mentioned it, and I made a point to remember its name, but then, I, well, um, forgot its name.

I know it's trumpet-shaped (?), and it might have yellow or white petals. Yeah, that's all I got to go on. Any ideas? Photos are a plus if you can locate some.

My gf's guess is a daffoldil of of some kind. Searching on google brought up this description, a Trumpet Daffodil Narcissus. I'm looking for a picture now for verification.

For the record, according to the search, there are over 2000 trumpet shaped flowers. :)

Also I did a search here for "trumpet", which yielded 31 results. I'm updating as I go here. Do any of those results look familiar? There are pictures if you click on the links.

You talking cut flowers or flowers for the garden?

Campanula?
Delphinium?
Astrolomeria?
Calla lilies?

how large are the flowers?
are there multiple blooms on the same stem or are they individual?

I'm guessing it'd be something I could give her. I don't think handing out sunflowers would be very effective.

I'll see if I can find pics of daffodils or morning glories.

Foxglove are trumpet shaped. And some varieties are yellow. Their latin name is Digitalis, and in fact, that's where digitalis, the drug, comes from. Foxglove are actually poisonous so you generally don't see them in florist shops. But they're quite beautiful.

I think you probably mean daffodils. Other names for them are paperwhites, narcisus and jonquils. There are hundreds of varieties, most in shades of yellow, cream and white, although there are some with orange trumpets.

Try a google image search on all these names and see if any of them are correct.

Frankly, I bet it's daffodils. I certainly like 'em.

I know it's after V-day (I'm assuming you're going for a romantic gift here. You didn't actually say), but you could always give her a big bouquet of all the trumpet-shaped, yellow and white flowers you can find. "I remembered you liked a trumpet-shaped, yellow and white flower, but I couldn't remember which one. So I got you all of them, just to be sure."

Ladies are suckers for guys who A) admit their mistakes (forgetting), and B) go above and beyond the call of duty to remedy them in a romantic way.
