Help me place my awesome stats.

Ok guys, I am playing in a game of 4e and I want to play a Cleric as the guys I'm playing with are all a bit over eager, and tend to get killed... a lot. I want to have a support role to keep them on their feet.
Here are my rolls

4d6.takeHighest(3) → [6,6,6] = (18)
4d6.takeHighest(3) → [6,4,2] = (12)
4d6.takeHighest(3) → [6,6,3] = (15)
4d6.takeHighest(3) → [6,4,4] = (14)
4d6.takeHighest(3) → [6,6,5] = (17)
4d6.takeHighest(3) → [6,3,3] = (12)

Yup thats what I thought too, such good rolls it seems now that a simple laser cleric is too easy...

So where would you all put these stats?

I started off thinking of an Elf and getting scale and shield proficiency feats along the way to shore up my defences a bit...
so
Str 14, Con 12, Dex 15(17), Int 12, Wis 18(20), cha 17

was my first thought, multi into rogue as I do so love that sort of character, and I hope I can make something flavourful with the Raven Queen maybe. (I know I'll need to stick a stat point into con for the scalemail.)

or
Str 14, Con 15, Dex 12(14), Int 12, Wis 18(20), cha 17
getting toughness at level one gives me the 32HP divisible by 4 holygrail... though it's a bit of an all rounder, there is no direction to this set...

so
Str 17, Con 12, Dex 15(17), Int 12, Wis 18(20), cha 14

Melee based cleric with good defences

or
Str 14, Con 12, Dex 17(19), Int 12, Wis 18(20), cha 15
or
Str 14, Con 15, Dex 17(19), Int 12, Wis 18(20), cha 12

...
If only I'd got shabby rolls I'd have known exactly what to do.

I think I prefer Laser cleric over melee; I could be sold on melee, I just don't want to step on the fighter or paladins toes, as we have both.

I don't get why you're putting such high scores into your dexterity, given that they won't count toward your AC when you wear heavy armour.

Decide what you want to play, "wise" cleric or melee cleric. Stick your best stat in wisdom or strength as a result. Leave intelligence and dexterity on 12, stick a nice score in constitution for a bit of staying power, and put your second-best stat in charisma.

So, melee cleric:

Str: 18
Con: 14
Dex: 12
Int: 12
Wis: 17
Cha: 15

I'd suggest dragonborn or human, so you get a strength bonus to bring it up to 20. Note the high wisdom - you get your wisdom mod as a bonus to healing you do, so it helps to have that even if you're going melee.

"Wise" cleric:

Str: 12
Con: 15
Dex: 14
Int: 12
Wis: 18
Cha: 17

Elf, dwarf or human, to raise your wisdom to 20.

As far as multiclassing into rogue - how far do you want to multiclass? One feat, lots of feats, the whole paragon path? If you're just going for a single feat, you only get sneak attack once per encounter, and you'll have to wield a "rogue" weapon. If you're going the whole way, then you'd better put a bunch of points into dexterity.

I wouldn't recommend it, though. Cleric and rogue don't really multiclass together very well. If you are set, though, I'd go melee cleric to take advantage of a magic weapon and sneak attack.

18 Str and 19 Wis would make a pretty amazing melee cleric. I've never heard of anyone complaining about another guy on the front lines.

If you have a high dex, stick to hide armor and skip spending a feat on scale. Get heavy shield proficiency.

DragonBorn Warlord (well anything really, I just like warlords better for support then clerics) would be kick-ass with those stats.

I would say look at the feats you want to have and make sure that by the time you want to take them, your stats will be high enough to do so.

Aside from that, I would go for best in wis, 2nd best in str, so that you retain tactical flexibility to be either meelee or laser, as the case warrants.

And I envy your dice rolling luck. My wizard would KILL for stats like yours. :)

Cheers for all the replies guys.

Gort, the high Dex is to secure a decent reflex defence, a weak point of the clergy, and it will allow me a reasonable hit chance with some rogue striker powers.
I know cleric and rogue don't play nicely together, but with stats like these I can go nuts (a bit) I figure.

The Grackle, there is already a fighter and a paladin in a 4 man party they are quite inexperianced gamers and I don't want to steal the show too badly (especially as I have such mighty stats)

WyzardWhately, Dwarves do have some cool melee bonuses but I do really like that elven re-roll and the extra speed, and in the paragon tier if I stick with scale I can keep the speed.

C_M2008, you gotta love that +wis to all healing powers the cleric gets, nobody does it better... as they say.

Particle_Man I was lucky as all hell, not the usual but i'm certainly not complaining :)

OK about this
STR 17, Con 12, Int 12, Dex 17(15), Wis 20(18), Cha 14
Gives me the melee option to a laser cleric, gives me all good defences, and on reflection Cha has limited use for a cleric, no attack rolls are based on it.
I take toughness level one and then retrain to get the shield proficiencies level 2.
