Help! Someone's going to play a Frenzied Berserker!

There is a FB in my campaign now for a couple months. BBEG's aside, I can count on the FB to do more damage and on one occasion so far, kill the PCs more than the standard monsters they encounter. Yes, calm emotions has been the quickest safety net and I've seen the party use Resilient Sphere on him too, even while there was foes left to fight!

Once you get into high levels, damage isn't important. Saves are.
I disagree.

Granted, saves become much more important than they were at lower levels, but hit points are still the name of the game.

THinking outside the box is great. Thinking outside the box so my fellow party member doesn't kill me is not so great.
Yeah...that's kind of not good thinking there Crothy. :)

I think the type of damage done makes a big difference. Getting knocked to -200 HP by a group of longbow-wielding archers (20-30 arrows or so) would leave a good portion of your body intact. Getting knocked to -200 HP by a couple of red dragons breathing on you would probably leave nothing behind but a pile of ash.

I don't see HP in D&D making that much sense to be able to say that. If two red dragons breathe on two people directly in the blast, taking the FB from 100 HP to -200 HP, and the fighter from 350 HP to 50 HP, I don't see why one of them running around is more unreasonable than the other.

Its really not that complicated. You also dont need to frenzy to kill a snake. Every encounter doesnt require raging like a madman with rabies. Think of it like roleplaying.

Except for the part where if that snake bites you, you do need to frenzy. Heck, you have to make a save to prevent it from happening.

Well yes, but often a barbarian can charge and one shot mooks. So often frenzy doesnt need to occur. Think of it as an extra addition to the roleplaying fun.

If the other characters have to kill the FB while he sleeps, even more RP opportunities.
