Breaks Games
It's over!
We sorta won!
Managed to turn the queen against the king... She wasn't amused to find out the king had stolen her phalectery and kept it from her. Unsuprisingly.
Anyway, with her help we managed to beat the king and his guards. Just. More correctly, that'd be - we won without her hindering us too much.
Final tally:
Paladin: Dead
Samurai: Dead
Wizard: Dead
Archer: Dominated by Lich Queen.
Sorceror: 6 HP left. ~60 vile damage.
Cleric: ~20 HP left. Tons of vile damage. Wisdom drained to 13!
The Slaadi king: Dead
His guards: Dead
The queens guards: 1 of 3 remaining.
The queen: All too healthy. (Gulp!)
The final round was rather tense. The paladin went down to a volley of chain strikes from the king, leaving him in charge range of 2 very injured spellcasters. Our cleric hurled his only offensive spell - a Searing Light - connected for near maximum damage and finished the king off. The look on the clerics face was priceless!
From my point of view, some highlights were:
The Wizard - reduced to Int 11 - taunting and defiantly hurling magic missiles into the face of the Slaadi king... from melee range.
Our brave samurai - desparately trying to keep the King and guards away from the spellcasters. Nearly managing to make the king Elusive Target his own guard. Unfortunately brain fried by our 'ally' the queen and her badly placed area spells.
Stealing the kings crown - true strike + telekinetic disarm - followed by a mad dash from the paladin... just managing to grab the thing. Enabled the queens powers to affect the king.
Heroic final stand from the aforementioned paladin. He was in what ammounted to a 1 on 1 duel with the Slaadi king. Brave!
My sorcerors scrape with death - at melee range with a Gith mageslayer - with nowhere to run. A desparate Scorching Ray managed to toast him good.
The groups look of fear, when the queen handed the dominated archer a quiver of 'better' arrows.
Plenty of other fun stuff and I'm sure there's a lot I'm forgetting.
We're now at the mercy of the Lich Queen. Who can guess what's going to happen next! Hopefully it involves her giving us piles of treasure and a holiday in barbados, but I doubt it somehow.
Thanks for the help everyone. Much appreciated and this has been a lot of fun!
