Help with an odd internet/Hotmail problem

First Post
So, I'm posting here for help as I don't know another good place to go to get a simple answer.

At the office that I work at several people have told me they can't open emails for their Hotmail account on one specific computer. I don't use hotmail so I'm not very familiar with the problem.

Apparently, it's only a problem on one computer.

And, it's only a problem with Hotmail; at any rate, yahoo.com mail works fine.

I'm not sure what else I can say that's relavent about hte situation. All computers concerned use Windows 2000 and are connected to the internet via a broadband LAN connection.

It seems to be a really bizarre problem and no-one I talk to has any idea what is the cause?

Anyone have an idea?

Is there a different browser installed, maybe an older version?

Might be, that the website needs a more current one, but then again this is just a wild guess, since I have never used hotmail personally. :)

Another idea would be cookies, maybe hotmail requires cookies and on that particular computer they are disabled. Or java/javascript or whatever they use there. :)

If the thing is that they can't open emails -- i have that same issue when using an *older* version of netscape (it's version 3 something I think).

So maybe it is the web browser version that's different?
Else, I would say it is some "advanced setting" option (related to background scripts)

If it were simply a matter of cookies, then they wouldn't be able to login, or they would keep getting logged out everytime they tried to open an email... this sounds more like script processing capabilities of the web browser (either not able to, or is a disabled feature).

When in doubt, clear your cookies. Then reboot.

Check that the security settings are not on "High", which sometimes prevents web sites from working properly.
