Help with Magic Items

Hi everyone. I'm currently statting up the Lord of Blades for my upcoming Eberron game (the party won't be facing him for a while, but I prefer to have him statted up early). I have come to only one stumbling block. I can't figure out how to handle his magic items. I am quite clueless when it comes to the rules on creating magic weapons (I know, I know), and so I'm curious how much in the way of magic items he should have. Considering that it is often cheaper (in gp) to create a magic item than to buy it, I need to know what would be an appropriate array of items for him to have.

The items I plan for him are focussed around personal defense and leadership. I planned him according to the ECS (Ftr2/Art5/WfJ5), and now I can't figure out how to handle his magic items.

Here's the ideas I have so far.

Armor: Adamantine Body
I'm trying to determine whether I should give this an enhancement bonus or not. Additionally, I'm considering how to take the Commanding effect from the Brestplate of Command and simply enhance his armor with that. If anyone can help me with that, I'd be much obliged.

Weapon: He wields a maul (stats of a greatclub probably). I'm trying to figure out any special abilities that make sense for him, or even an enhancement bonus. Any advice again appreciated.

Other Items:

Here's where I need real help. I'm considering any combination of the following items, but considering that he's capable of creating many of these on his own, which may lower their cost to him, I don't know exactly how much the LoB should have. He's starting with 88k gold, but I know that sometimes creating the item is cheaper as far as gold than buying it is, so if anyone can help me with that, I'd again appreciate it.
Ring of Force Shield
Rod of Rulership
Rod of Splendor
Staff of Charming
Circlet of Pesuasion
Cloak of Charisma
Gauntlets of Rust

Please, any help you can give in this matter would be appreciated.
