Help with naming

Ever since I heard the name of the new Vampire Slayer (Van Helsing) movie coming out, something has tugged at my mind in familiarity.

Just yesterday, me and a friend finally knocked it loose. Van Helsing was the name of the Vampire Slayer trapped in an alternate dimension/hole in time battling Dracula for all eternity in a cheesy monster movie we had both seen back in the day. Unfortunetly, neither of us remembers the name.

The movie dealth with a group of kids who befriended Frankenstein as monsters invaded their town. I believe there was a Mummy, a Wolfman, a Fishman, and, of course, the monster's leader, Dracula.

One memorable scene involves one of the kids kicking the wolfman in the "nards"

I thought the movie was Monster Patrol but IMDB didn't seem to support that theory. Anyone help me out?

Possibly Monster Squad ?

It seems to fit.

Of course, Van Helsing was the name of the vampire hunter in the original Dracula novel, which is why it keeps popping up.
Hey, you posted what I was going to! I remember watching Monster Squad. It was hilarious.

The Fishman would be The Creature From The Black Lagoon. It's too bad he's not used more. He deserves a modern movie too! :)

I once wrote down some notes for a D&D side trek type adventure with a scrag (marine troll) which was the Creature from the Black Lagoon. 'Course, once you have the stats for the one monster, and a place where he can trap the PC's boat, that's pretty much the whole adventure. You just try to trap the boat and pick the PCs off, spending the whole time reacting intelligently to whatever they do to try and clear the waterway, and diving in to regenerate whenever the scrag is hurt badly.

Unfortunately, it works only as a 1-2 level adventure (maybe 1-3) and the PCs in my group were higher level already, so I've never run it.
