help with scribing spells

First Post
I was wondering...

Scribing scrolls takes time and money. While I am not advocating lower the amount of each necessary to put a spell in a spell book, I thought about having an assistant (i.e. a lower level wizard lackey) to do the work, freeing up the time.

So,

Does this seem like a good or a bad idea?

Since a second level wizard working for a tenth level wizard is going to have a bear of a time scribing those higher level spells, can anyone suggest a game mechanic for resolving the problems around the lower level wizard not being albe to make the spellcraft checks?

Do not forget that scribing scrolls also costs XP, so the amount of scrolls a lackey could scribe is limited, since you cannot create any magical item if the XP cost forces you to loose a level.

D'Oh!

Let me be a little clearer here, I am talking about putting new spells into a spellbook, not making scrolls.

Altought that is a good question too; what mechanic exists (or should exist) for an old wizard to delegate the creation of scrolls to his lackeys?

I am thinking about the old gezzer pays the normal XP + 10% where the 10% is given to the young'un that actually made the scroll.

Alas, I am hijacking my own thread here, I was looking for ways to make the lesser wizards scribe spells into the spellbooks of the higher wizards...

Generally no, you cannot have anyone else scribe your spells into your spellbook - this would be the same as attempting to use a someone else's spellbook - there are rules in T&B for doing this.
