Here's The Wizard Spell List From Extra Life

I remember when people used to put sentences and everything in their posts. It was a golden era.

I can't speak for anybody but myself, but the developing trend of material reprinted from earlier sources (SCAG, EE Companion) is disappointing. It smacks of the font size increase WoTC implemented in the later 3.5 era books, in the sense that it seems to serve mainly as a way to reduce the amount of actual new content in they have to create.

However, is it not possible that they expanded the book to include these spells? Thus, they are actually bonus content. Similar to how the expand to MM to include more (obviously not recycled) content.

I think it probably depends on how you want to look at it.

Looks like I wasted by money buying a print copy of the Elemental Evil Player's Companion....

Well, the spells were already in the back of Princes of the Apocalypse, so not the first time.

That said, they have nearly made the EEPG kinda superfluous. The spells from it were in PotA and XTE, the Genasi in PotA, Goliath in VGM, and deep gnome in SCAG. Only aarakroca never was reprinted, and considering its not AL legal, its not a big deal.

If they expanded the page count to include the subclasses (and who knows what else) reprinted from the SCaG and the spells reprinted from the EE companion, that will be one thing. U til they announce that this is the car, however, I think it is reasonable to assume that they are easting up as much space as possible by reprinting previously published material.

We will see.

I like what I've been seeing so far, but do agree with the sentiment about reprinting content already printed elsewhere. ToA monster section is half full of critters from Volo's Guide. There are any number of other jungle-themed creatures that they could have used instead (Tasloi, other types of dino, etc).

This is 77 out of 95 spells, which leaves 18 spells that the Wizard doesn't have access to (obviously many of these spells on the Wizard's list will be shared with other classes)

Only if you're the kind of DM that allows everything. If you don't, then the EEPC isn't nearly as superfluous, as you might have a game that disallows some of the sources that reprint it, but allows the EEPC, granting that stuff anyway.

The impression I got in the case of ToA and Yawning Portal was that they were both written with the assumption that you'd have to buy Volo's separately, but they changed their minds and decided it'd be better that newer DMs don't have to purchase yet another book on top of the already rather costly barrier to entry of the core three books and the adventure in order to run it.

I assume they'll keep doing this in the future so that they can make use of the monsters in Volo's without essentially making the game more expensive to play.
