Danko, especially, makes no sense whatsoever. He hates the people with powers, but teams up with one of the worst? Pffft - the show's never made any reasonable attempt to make that a believable action.
Possibly the greatest failing of it all is that Danko has this mad, Senator Kelly-esque hate of "people with abilities"*, and the show has never explained why. Not even a clue. "These people are dangerous, so I hate them." What? Huh? So, Danko hates people based on what a snooty senator tells him? Awesome; let me get my senator to tell him that cabbages are dangerous, and give him some papers that say that, and maybe get a drug addict comic book artist to draw some pictures of dangerous cabbage. Then Danko can waste weeks of time and millions of dollars of taxpayer money hunting down cabbages.
*(The show needs to come up with some danged slang for the supers already. Call them supers, powers, metas, mutants, muties, Tangos, Papas, whatever; no bunch of soldiers is going to spend weeks chasing a group of people and not come up with a slang term for them!)
Nothing has happened on the show, nor has anything even been hinted at, that backs up his extremist position. Yes, it's supposed to be a metaphor for attitudes on terrorism, but there have been no mass casualty events in Heroes, so the metaphor is mostly functioning as a metaphor for the writing's Epic Failure. There have been many prophecies of horrors to come, but
none of those have happened, and nobody but the PWAs themselves have seen or have any proof of these prophecies. The biggest body count in Heroes history apparently belongs to Sylar -- so Danko's current alliance w/Sylar makes Danko an even bigger idiot.
Idiot villains + incompetent heroes + no humor == not very interesting show.
(Idiot villains & incompetent heroes can work, if it's funny; as evidence, see Venture Bros. And Venture Bros has deeper, more interesting, more consistent characters than Heroes at this point.)
