[Heroes of Battle] Dread Commando's group initiative bonus--too good?

My concern is this: is this class feature too good? My gut says yes, but I have no experience with the class. Any input is appreciated.

It is really hard to just look at that. By itself it is not worth taking five levels of a prestige class for. But combines with other things of the class, it may be too good. I don't know the class so I really can't say.

Iniaitive is good and important by an additional +5 alone will not insuire the party going first all the time. Even a +8 like is mentioned above won't do that unless the players are cheating.
