Heroes of Code reviews? Update: A review is up!

Has anyone purchased Heroes of Code, yet? I've been thinking about getting it, but I was hoping to read a review first, or at least hear some thoughts from someone who has it.

Edit: Check post #10 for a link to my review.

While I haven't bought it yet, I plan to do it, because I've seen the Ultimate Classes on the Wizards boards. The classes are very flexible and the Fighter variant gives enough reason to stay with the class until level 20. I like what I've seen and I want it in a neat PDF. I haven't looked, but the creator has announced, that he removes the classes as soon as they are published - I think that is because of the contract, which won't allow a publishing except by ENWorld (I have seen a similar contract).

As an I.T. person I was curious how anyone could be a hero in a code review. Oh sure, you could find some bugs, maybe even point out some efficiency problems, but hero? That seems unlikely. Code reviews are boring, painstaking events that involve an attention to detail. There's no room for the dramatic.

Ok, that was probably less funny than I'd hoped for. :)

That's generous. Ours typically devolve to criticisizing naming conventions and nitpicking over the coding standard. ;)

To me, a hero of a code review is the one who shows how inane certain conventions of the standard are and gets it revised so the next one is less painful.

Wow, a semi-work related post. Go me.

Heroes of Code looks very good, but I can't say for sure one way or another. EN Publishing material is apparently much better than average, though.

Can I have a link for this so called fighter variant. And I thought the Ultimate Classes were E. N. Publishing, not WotC.

I have it I think but really haven't had the time to crack open anything new for a while. I'm hoping to jump on some reviews this weekend or early next week. I'm really behind on them

I purchased it this past weekend. I have read it once. I plan on reading it again later this week. Then I can finalize my impressions.

I've never said, that they WotC - just said they have been posted on WotC boards. And interestingly, they are still there - here is Ultimate Fighter.
