They don't have to, but I understand they have chosen to do so in order to maximize profits.

This is why I stopped buying their stuff.

Right. I would prefer they not cut things out but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.

What funny, in my decades of play I've never been in a group where they would on purpose slay goblin kids or whatever. Or own a slave.

Yet reading old OD&D playthrough notes and buy a slave? Yup! Blows my mind. Like the real OG's were way more hardcore than I would have thought.

I think any Humamoid children are right out, for starters. There is a whole sidebar in Bigby about how theybstrongly recommend not putting Giant children into Encounters to fight.
True. But I also can't think of any time where WotC left them in the line of fire. (I do not own most of their adventures, so it may have happened, but I've never heard it mentioned.)
Storm King’s Thunder features some giant children — for instance, the fire giants have two teenage children who use half-ogre stats.

The 18 yo daughter is more of a RP encounter, but her 15 yo brother will fight you.

I’m pretty sure King Hekaton’s daughters are all adults. I can’t remember if there are any other giant children anywhere.
