Hexblade Blackguard

I'd agree build 1 is the better. Although with build 3, why not take improved feint. With your high charisma, you'd get a good bluff check. And be able to use the sneak attack damage more often.

ergh...maybe some rogue lvls later?
just kidding

No, I really like the idea of rogue levels. I think you are on the right track. I just think they add more later, rather than sooner.

Lets build it out over 20:

Cleric 1: Domains(Luck, Trickery) Power Attack, Cleave, Rebuke Undead
Hexblade 1: Curse
Hexblade 2: Arcane Resistance, Divine Might
Fighter 1: Close Quarters Fighting
Fighter 2: Improved Sunder
Hexblade 3: Mettle, Leadership
Hexblade 4: Summon Familiar
Blackguard 1: Detect Good, Aura of Evil, Poison Use
Blackguard 2: Dark Blessing, Smite Good, Divine Shield
Blackguard 3: More Rebuking
Rogue 1: Sneak Attack
Rogue 2: Evasion, Some Nasty Feat
Rogue 3: More sneak, Uncanny Dodge
Blackguard 4: Even more sneak

Further stuff indeterminate. Anyone with ideas, feel free to chime in =)

Random,

I'm reasonable sure SOMEWHERE in the FR rules, you're allowed if you worship an evil god to by pass that. I could be wrong.

C-Dave  :\
I don't see WHY he'd need to take a level in Dragon Disciple IF he's already covered in other aspects.

Seeten,

First build is alright...but if you're TRULY that concerned with rerolling saves, might want to consider a magic item or something else that can allow you to re roll saves. I'm just saying it seems a waste to me to go cleric/fighter/Hexblade Blackguard.

Fighter/Hexblade/Blackguard is alright, and adding in a level of rogue is good. But don't need to spend so many levels that you can use later on to buff up your Hexblade's Abilities along with your Blackguard powers.

The idea of taking Ninja is a decent one in my book. Another option, if you can get Book of Roguish Luck, Shadowsworn has some nice skills you might consider.

Mostly I'd favor maxing out as much of Hexblade as possible with Blackguard, possibly even having other options to fighting enemy spellcasters.

If you're wondering about races that would work well, tielfing is a decent choice, but personally, I'd favor something more like half farspawn or perhaps psuedonatural.

Race is human, I might go half-fiend somewhere down the line, but starting race is human.

Blackguard requires 3 feats, if I enter it via 7 hexblade that only leaves 2 other feats, with human bonus, 1 is leadership, or the group has 0 clerics, so thats 1 feat.

I'm not THAT concerned, I just think its fun, and funny. Cleric is more for Divine Might earlier. Divine Might is broken. Its so badass it scares me.

Not King of Smack broken, I admit, but broken.

I REALLY wanted a Fighter class with hide as a class skill, but Ranger is so Meh. I mean 1 Ranger/ 5 Hexblade gets me into Blackguard at 7.

The feats suck, though, that leaves me at Power attack, Cleave, Improved Sunder, Close Quarters Fighting, Leadership and thats it.

It does add the favored enemy bonus, which is sorta nice, except I have no clue what to use it on.

*thinks there's Divine Might broken...and then there's stuff like Sacred Defender from Relics and Rituals 2 that many people think is even more broken*

You do as you wish Seteen. I'm just offering my .02 cents worth.
