Hextor has fallen. Now I just have to make the stats. (Now Open to My Players)

Remember, too, that the heavy flail is a trip and disarm weapon. Use attacks of opportunity to disarm that charging centaur (+2 for flail, +8 for size, +4 for 2 hands, etc.)

It's hard to trip a four-legged large creature. +4 for size, +4 stability, +12=+20 Str vs +2 Flail, +8 size, +13 Str =+23. Not much of a difference. I've never seen the +4 for two hands (is it 3.0?) but I can go with it. +27. A 7 point difference should be good enough.

The numbers I gave there were for the disarm attempt. No +4 stability bonus for Mr. Centaur on Disarm. And if the Titan has Improved Disarm or Improved Trip, he gets a +4 bonus on top of that (or Improved Sunder....destroy main weapon one shot with a gargantuan adamantine flail). The options are too many with a potential A$$ kicker like you have there...must stop...thinking about it...must...get back...to work!!

Well Lela, how did the fight go? :D
Highlights

First Round:
  • Everyone smacked stuff. BBN did over 100 on a crit and took down one of the demon goblin minions (86 HP).
  • Pixie Bard got hit by poison dart and lost 5 Con and 4 dmg. Down to 25 HP.
  • Yip (Kobald Wizard) cast Horrid Wilting and hurt every single bad guy. Even Hextor.
  • Hextor got mad. He cast a Quickened Acid Strike on Pixie, Yip, and Whisper. Then he cast Acid Storm on everyone.
  • Together, Yip, Whisper (Druid), and Pixie took 30d6 of acid damage in one round. Yip and Pixie died.
Second Round:
  • Everyone got closer.
  • Hextor, at 66 ft tall, AoOed everyone who came within 30 ft.
  • More minions died.
  • Hextor did something I can't remember. Likely involving a Quickened Acid Strike.
Third Round:
  • Whisper (Druid) hit Hextor with a Greater Dispelling. He had an impressive array of buffs, making him super special. She had to roll a Caster Level check against a DC of 31 for every one of the spells (meaning she needed a 14). She rolled below a 16 a total of once. (Blasted Druid!)
  • Hextor got mad at the Druid. He cast a Quickened Acid Strike on her followed by Implosion (which, I've decided, sucks as a 9th level spell). She had put up Protection from Acid (in round 2) and resisted the Implosion. She escaped his wrath unharmed.
  • He saw her as his real threat and decided she was going to die.
Fourth Round:
  • Everyone closed in on the, now 33 ft (Righteous Might was dispelled), Hextor. BBN auto-crited, using Power Critical from S&F (BAD FEAT) and everyone smacked Hextor good and plenty.
  • Blackguard took him down.
DM Notes:
  • It was a good thing they took him down when they did. Had he had his turn (it was very close) he would have cast Ethereal Jaunt, Heal, and popped back out with Antilife Shell up. He then would have blasted Whisper (Druid) with his own Greater Dispelling followed by either a Quickened Acid Strike. Or, instead, used a Full Attack (he was dealing out 40-50 per hit) on her.
  • I completely forgot to Disarm. That could have changed the entire outcome of the fight. Especially if I had done so to the BBN.
  • It really was a great fight. The PCs were suitibly scared by the beginning and really fealt like the accomplished something.
  • I gave the PCs 20 miniutes to prepare without me present. It was the first time I'd ever done that and they did pritty well. I, meanwhile, was preping without them present (I saved some stuff to do during this time). I wasn't terribly impressed by their planning but they did manage to surprise me a couple times.
  • I had given them a view of the battlefield beforehand, which they did okay in using.
  • I went overboard on descriptions this session. From spells to effects, I described. I think it worked really well to draw everyone in but I don't plan to do it too often. I want it to be special when it is.
  • I'm opening the thread to my players, who should feel free to post any corrections or thoughts.
Any questions?

I find it hilarious that (If using 6 second rounds) they killed "Hextor" in under 30 seconds.
Well, he did kill two of them in under 6 seconds. And they had a little help from Ao (who threw him from godhood). And Titilvious paid them a massive sum of money to kill Hextor, which they used to outfit themselves in a Hell based shopping plaza. In addition, he gave them a view of the battlefield beforehand. Which they used to plan tactics.

But we took a good two or three hour break (had to make an appearance at a party) from the game after the first round. It fealt a whole lot longer.

It was also due to several mistakes on my part. I should have been using the Improved Disarm feat. That would have turned the tide of battle considerably. I'm pritty sure I made several mistakes in the 2nd round that I shouldn't

Also, my group has voted to reject the use of splat books. Their stuff just isn't balanced right and tends to have serious problems when mixed with other splat books and many of the core books. For example, Power Critical is pushing the limits on it's own. But mix it with a Merc. Greatsword (x4 Crit) and Flaming Burst and Shocking Burst (DMG). Suddenly you're dealing 8d6 + 3d10 + 3d10 + 4 X 2-handed Str + 4 X Enhancement. All you have to do is hit. Which isn't hard for a Raging BBN to do. If that hadn't happend, the fight would have turned out much differently.

Primarally, though, I'm not a god of War. And it shows. ;)

As the blackgaurd that went through the whole thing i thought it was mighty good. (or bad since i'm evil) anyhow the god of war in my sense seemed to do nothing but cast spells at us and oi thought that was a litlle wonky. But it was a great fight, even more so since the way buffed centaur got through with more than 70%HP, but sad when my favorite little minion got killed in the first round. but hey it was all right now that i reaqlized my soul is hopeless shunned by my wife caused a cataclysm and poretty much have become a houshold curse in the tongues of potty mouthed little miscreants for eons to come.

"Give me back my shovel Brad!" Jacob tantromed.

"Nah, nah, na, nah, nah."

Tears form in Jacob's eyes, "YOU SON OF A CENTAUR!"

Brad recoiled in shock, dropping the shovel and turning to run, "I'm telling"

You know what non of us are complaining. You killed of Amy and Yip in the first round, thank goodness I at least survived. I was defatly Hurting though. I am the Druid just so you know. I think I am just lucky how well I rolled. I don't think I have ever rolled that well in a despreate situation before. :D We lived and my dispel magic worked, even though the whole world was thrown out of the plane, hey we killed Hextor. That is a good thing right. Right.
