Hey Horacio,

I just got some info from my girlfriend that my Hirst Moulds arrived today!! WOOHOOO! I'm going to try to get to the store to get some Plaster of Paris and the other "tools". I'll let you know how it goes! :)

First a new Computer, then this! I'll never see the light of day again!

I've been wanting some Hirst molds, but it would cost me an arm and a kidney to order from abroad. Still haven't found any place in Sweden willing to import them for a somewhat cheaper price. :(

Hey Scarab, I got them from a UK online site. The price is the same but I am pretty sure the shipping is cheaper and since it is within the EU you shouldn't have to pay any duty on it. It was also relatively quick shipping The charges were on the 26th of last month on my card, and they arrived today Mon. the 11th:

Hope that helps!

I hope so too! I've managed to locate a dental technician a few doors down, so I'll be trying to bribe them for some decent plaster, but until then will locate some Plaster of Paris ;). I'll let you know how it goes! I think I'll be dedicating one of my flat'S balconies to gaming sideprojects during the summer. Much nicer to work outside amongst the greenery.... that and the paint smell won't kill the cats ;)

A last advise, try to get the mixture water-plaster dense enough, it dries faster and it's more tough. And use a small stick to be sure the platers goes to every small corner of the mold (but be gentle, you don't want to damage the mold :) ).

I've wanted to get some Hirst stuff for a while now, but I've always figured I wouldn't have time to mess with it after I got it.

I mean, it seems like it could take a month to build one building...

Not a all!
Only a week...

You do half the cating in two hours on Monday, let it dry until Wednesday, On Tuesday do the other half (until Thuersday). On Wednesday take the first half and build half the building, on Thuersday finish it with the other half, on Friday and Saturday you paint and decorate it, and on Sunday you rest, ans show your masterwork building to your friends...

Well so far I have the moulds and keep looking at them saying "My precious.....My precious". Then I have identified what plaster of Paris is in German (Stuckgips if anyone cares ;)) so This week I am going to the Baumarkt (The Home improvement store basically) and buying all the stuff I need to spend my entire weekend casting bits! The great thing is in the drying times I have plenty of time to play on my new PC! ;). I'll bring my camera and post some pics maybe.
