Me wants...

I have their tower and cottage molds already, I never have any breakage though. Are you shaking them as they set to get the bubbles out? Want to try dental plaster next, not easy to come by...

I do the hammer the slightly raised table thing, as well as run a kebab stick (dull end) through it to get bubbles out. The places where they broke were quite solid and only happened the first time I cast anything. I think the German variant of plaster I have just takes a little longer to set properly. So I left the others another 5-10 mins and everything went great.

I am looking forward to more photos after the weekend!

Horacio- Any pics from you? How heavy are the models once you have finished them? Do you build them so they can open up?

(Thanks :) )

I would love to show my creations, but I have no digital camera (too much expensive the good ones, crap the cheap ones)...

The buildings are strong enough to play D&D (or Warhammer or Mordheim) with them weekly without any problem (if you use dental plaster, it can even fall on the floor without terminal damage).

Edit: my English betrays me again. You did say HEAVY and I read TOUGH. Well, the finished building is heavy, but not too much. Like a plaster of Paris decorative piece, maybe... :)

I build some of them to be open up, specially those destined to playing, and others without opening. You can choose :)

I can't wait to hear more about this. I'm trying to decide between two or three different hobbies to waste my money on right now and Hirst Molds are in the running. :)

So many hobbies, so little money.

Yeah, I find doing all the hobbies to be the most satisfying... although you may refer to me from henceforth as "The Jolly Pauper" ;)

As for your models Horacio, I'll just have to visit France sometime and take some pics for the others ;) hehe.

I plan on building my models to open up, once I get enough parts built or molds of a building. I'm glad I read this thread it reminded me to bring some lego home from work to build a lego wall to line up the corners and the flagstones straight.

That would be great, Will, you're invited!

Yeah, I'll start another thread in a second and post some of the pictures of my lego creations and setup on my desk.. some of them are old from last year when I moved into a new office. :)

Ok! As Promised some more pictures from this weekend. I didn't have enough time to make tons of bricks etc. But I took what I had molded and started doing some assembly. For any Germans reading, for glue I used "UHU Alles Kleber" which seems to have worked quite fine. Of course I used a LEGO wall for lining up the parts and the assembly time once molded is quite quick! I had fun doing it and I have much more ambitious plans for the next few batches of molds.

More assembly work!

Here is part of an assembly phase for a corner piece of a hallway, A room, and also a portcullis/grate piece.
