Hey Horacigon! RE: Hirst Moulds! [Pictures, slow load time]

Here are some Pics!

Well, it was quite an adventurous weekend for me!

It started out with a trip to the hospital to visit my Girlfriend who had to go in Suddenly on Friday due to some serious stomach lining problems. All was well though so I hopped in the car and headed off to the local OBI, which is a home improvement store. I managed to get almost everything except some plastic cups (which I later improvised from some plastic bottles) and headed out onto the balcony in some great Munich weather.

The first batch came out good, but a couple of the walls had parts stick in the mould and I broke two walls getting them out of the mould. I wasn't too worried since it was my first attempt and I hadn'd gotten used to the plaster strength or how quickly it dried. The next few batches came out mostly perfect so now I'll be making some more to get enough to start actually building :)

Which the drinking a beer between moulds or the molding itself? ;)

Yeah, it was very relaxing and being outside on the balcony doing it was great. I had great fun and I haven't even gotten to the part about building it yet!!! :)

I'm already planning to relax again this weekend with it. The cool thing is you can do other stuff in between, even cleaning the house a bit!! Or in my case playing some Dungeon Siege!

I'll keep you update with more pics! Now I'm already thinking what else to get for the next moulds!!! hehe

The beer drinking is also a wonderful hobby ;)

For the next one, I love the Wizards Tower mold, it's the base for a lot of buildings :)

Me wants...

I have their tower and cottage molds already, I never have any breakage though. Are you shaking them as they set to get the bubbles out? Want to try dental plaster next, not easy to come by...

Better than shaking, IMHO, is using a small stick to be move the mixture in each 'brick'.

Dental plaster is great, but you need to find a source. Try your friendly local dentist ;)
