Hey Planescape/Monte Cook fans - c'mere!

What kind of help do you give for people trying to come up with there own planar system? (an example of what i mean: what was given at the end of MotP with the "endless road" etc suggestions)

Also, i love little planes (demiplanes) that are unique and quirky (as opposed to 'the plane of LAW' type stuff). care to give some examples of the unique demiplanes your book will feature?

By the way, some of the questions asked here can already be answered (and some misconceptions can be cleared up) by reading Monte Cooks two most recent "Design Diary" articles:

Mmmmh... It's seem to be like I believed. A Moorcock like style of Cosmology. I thing I am going to like this book. However release date seems far away. I hope there will be a printed version!

Edit: Reading more about this book, I think I will buy it. Release date is set for august for the pdf, I just hope it won't be sold only as secure pdf (DriveThruRpg), in which case I will only buy it as a book. Print version is scheduled for october 2004, so we can expect a March or April 2005 release ;). The only thing, is that I will have to sell my Manual of the Planes (and maybe BoVD and BoED which go well with it) in the meantime; I don't to keep something that I will thereafter use even less than never.

The Planar Handbook lists the Lady of Pain as LN. This has caused an uproar on the WotC boards. What alignment do you think the Lady should be? Should the Lady even have an alignment?

1. Have you considered ways of travelling between planes other than portals?

2. How important will philosophy be in setting a leitmotif for your worlds?

3. D&D planes were often based on mythological places, albeit changed (and sometimes misinterpreted). Will your worlds be completely original or based on real-world mythology?

Detailing anything about the lady is just asking for trouble. I have never thought about it before, but I cannot see how she could be anything else but True nuetral.

We should just let it go at AE ( ambiguous equivocal )

I'm probably one of many that would love to see a return of Planescape. of course, a large percentage of it would be radically different due to several sweeping changes in the D&D cosmology - but it could still be workable, i think. of course, it looks like this product is not Planescape - but has the promise to be just as good, if not better.

will it still have ways to link to all the gods' realms and prime worlds? things like color pools and portals and all that?

do we still have demons and celestials all over the place as well as all the other fun races?

Lady of Pain and Aoskar and all the rest? :)

i wish i had more interesting questions to add...

I know that Planescape is still copyrighted material and therefore won't be included or mentioned in BCD. Do you envision any kind of web enhancement or suggestions posted on the forums for those of us who would like to merge BCD with existing PS material? This is what I intend to do with the product, and since so many of the original PS crew are involved, can I look for any guidance from them?

and also:

Was Tony DiTerrlizzi approached about the project? Trust me, I love RK's work, but I was drawn into the setting by DiTerrlizzi's illustrations. I know he's busy with children's books, but was curious if he was contacted.

i'll take RKPost as a second-best to Tony D (but that is not meant to be a slight in the least) as i have to echo those thoughts, as i'm sure many others would.

- I also want to know if DiTerrlizzi will illustrate the book (although for a different reason: despite his art is good, I don't like it for D&D, so don't want to buy a d20 book with his work).

- Another question, I don't know how to formulate correctly: Well, is there an ethereal plane featured in Beyond Countless Doorways (since it is a usual feature of most if not all D&D settings, whatver may be their cosmology? Is that supplement self-contained? That is, can it replace totally Manual of the Planes? (I want to know as I think to sell my copy of MoP when I get Beyond Countless Doorways.)
