Congrats on getting the book UK. I can't wait to see how you rip the rules in it apart to explain them to everyone.

I was up to 4:30am reading the book last night...

I have already spotted a number of issues I will contest. The main issue that gave me pause was the terrible waste of space in the book repeating obvious material. They should have purposely worked stuff into a template:

eg.
Divine Immunities - under every deities description they reprint virtually (modified by status) the same list.

Senses - just state the range.

Automatic Actions - just state the DC.

Create Magic Items - this paragraph is always irrelevant.

Spell-like Abilities - Do we really need these listed every time (above Level and DC anyway)? Once you know the Domains you are just repeating the same material.

Domain Powers - Again probably better explained elsewhere.

After all that we have removed the best part of three-quarters of a column from each deity. With 81 deities in the book that means we have saved 30+ pages already!

I suppose its a case of 'never send a mortal to do a gods work!' ;)

I'm still reading over things but don't worry I'll sort it all out.

Hi oliver! :)

Oh, I thought all of europe was slowed down by about the same amount.

Shop wise, luck is the biggest factor in getting in new products here.

We got Dragon #294 a few weeks ago (the first I had seen the magazine in over a year!) while the rest of the UK (as far as I know) still doesn't have it! But generally its pot luck which was why I have to order important releases online.

Not to mention that they totally forgot to mention how to allocate Ability stats when you create a new god.
Secondly close examination of the gods, seems to suggest that they have used a base stat template based upon:
Base: 24, then allocate 21 + Divine Rank to the stats.
Instead they should have used the NORMAL rules, by stating the range stats where given in, and then factoring in Class attribute points etc.. etc.. It took me 4 days to figure out how to create a new god, because they forgot to mention that little ting.
Take their webenhancement... with the beggar god, i tried and tried but i simply couldn't make his advancements fit together... No matter how i did it, i couldn't compare the differenct versions of him simply by adding the new class levels, and divine ranks...
When they make something that should be following the "normal" rules... Then FOLLOW them goddammit...

Hello UK

Can I ask some question on the Immortal handbook (WPS) ?

I would like to know if it allow me to do what the D&Dg doesn't,
i.e. will it allow me to DM a group of local gods (each will be the god of a village), with guidelines for stats generation, CR (and not that: "do it as you like" to eyeball challenge in D&Dg), and how to advance them (minimum level for a given DR, ECL for DR, ECL for high starting stats, etc...).

Also, do you plan to correct the "error" in D&Dg?
like:

Create Magic item a standard ability in chapter 2, while each deity in following chapters is able to create specific item linked to its faith (the second method seems fair, especialy for Hephaistos who wouldn't have the ability to create shocking burst sword if he used the standard method).

Domains (how to decide the number of domains a deity freely get, and those it needs to buy with extra domains, it seems that the standard is 3 domains for every deities).

Ranged damage with thrown weapons: every deity in D&Dg does less damage with ranged weapon when they are thrown instead of used in mele.

(NB: it seems that some deities don't have the domains power listed also).

So will you list your deities using the rules in chapter 2, or will it follow the method used in chater 3,4,5 and 6?

I will have all the divine character creation basics in the IH/WPS.

I am familiar with the divine array and I don't like their method at all - I handle things somewhat differently and I think far more logically (with regards the core rules anyway).

Upon ascension ability scores are given as follows:

- Divine Bonus +6 (every ability)
- Inherant Bonus +5 (every ability) checked against current inherant bonuses from wishes or tomes
- Divine Bonus +21 points (total)

- Divine Bonus +1 point (total)/Divine Rank

- Bonuses from levelling continue as before.
