I'm about ready to throw out the stealth rules entirely and just wing it.
It's okay, but not to my taste for playability. That's lots of rolling. And, once you are hidden, the enemy doesn't know where you are located unless he beat your check. Note that the DM will have to roll opposed spot checks for every bad guy once per round with this tactic.
Yes, your roll is vs. passive perception, but surely all the bad guys that can spare a minor (it's a minor) will look, too? Maybe I exaggerated by saying "have to." Sorry about that. Anyway, here's the relevant quote:Isnt my Stealth Roll compared against the enemy's "Passive" Perception ?
Or do you mean on their turn, if they actively look for me and use a "Minor Action" to do that, or is that a free action ??
Minors are easy to come by for bad guys and given enough minions there should be some success.DDI said:FIND A HIDDEN CREATURE
Make a Perception check to try to find a hidden creature (see “Stealth”). If a creature finds a hidden creature, it might point the hidden creature out to others, resulting in them knowing its location.

A. Yes, the others are still at -5 for total concealment, but now they know which square to target. Note, however, that area effects (including bursts and blasts) do not suffer from concealment penalties, even total concealment. Any enemies having these should therefore make it their priority to target you...always.
B. Yes (I think so) and you have CA only against those who can't see you.
(C.) Superior != total cover. If you can't see them, they can't see you.
