Hidden Tunnels under Moscow

I posted this at Nutkinland just before this place came back from the dead, so here it is again.

It seems that there are extensive, multilevel tunnels under Moscow, which include a secret laborotory, mass graves, and possibly the lost library of Ivan the Terrible! How's that for a D20 modern setting?

This is such a well written little piece, it's full of great details!

People chanting and wearing robes, then running off when they were discovered, secret Metro lines that may been used to move bombs around...great stuff!

I saw a program about these tunnels under Moscow last Christmas. They followed a group of explorers who have spent the last few years trying to find the lost library down there. It was amazing some of what they did find, some of it dating back a few hundred years.

While D20 Modern would benefit from using this as campaign material, this SCREAMS Call of Cthulhu to me. C'mon- the robed priests under the church singing by torchlight around an old altar? The only thing missing was an Elder Sign on the wall. Strange groups of men trying to excavate sealed off portions of the tunnels. Yummy stuff for my next CoC campaign. Thanks Buttercup!
