Hide and the gnome sorcerer

Get Hide as a class skill and at level 5 ad your int to your hide check (+dex of course).

Hiding better then the thief!

The best option if you haven't begun playing yet might be to just play a gnome illusionist. It gets nice racial alternate levels and UA has a variant that gives you extra class skills, including Hide.

I already mentioned that. UA = Unearthed Arcana = "variant rules" on the d20srd site.

Draconic heritage feat gives you additionnal class skills, black dragon gives hide I think.

Hmm, black and copper Draconic Heritage both give Hide -- intriguing options. As I said, the gnome has the Penumbral Bloodline feat; on the one hand, adding Draconic Heritage might be a bit much (how gnome is this so-called gnome, anyways?), but black dragons have inherent darkness powers, so that could go with the whole shadow thing. Hmm.

The GM wants nothing to do with Bo9S, so Martial Study is nixed. However, he suggested a HR feat (get it as a class skill, and get a +1 to it). I'll probably end up going with that, though Draconic Heritage is tempting.

It's not a very easy route for a sorcerer, but one level of Loremaster can get you the "instant mastery" secret, which gives you 4 ranks in a skill in which you have no ranks.
