Hit point recovery

In my games, folks heal BAB +1 hit points per eight hours of light activity, with complete bed rest healing 50% additional (rounded down) and being tended to by a healer doubling any amount gained in tha ttime.

The reason I use BAB is to make the amount re-gained have some correlation to class hit dice - thus fighters and barbarians who have more hit points get them back faster.

Something like: if you rest for at least 5 minutes within 1 minute after the end of an encounter, you immediately recover 25% of the damage taken in that encounter.

Green Ronin's Skull & Bones uses an alternate rule where you heal hit points as normal when resting, but by the minute instead of by the hour. In addition, you don't go into negative hit points once you run out of hit points... You take Constitution damage instead.
