You're a brave, or foolish, man to admit to downloading something here EK. Let's hope a mob howling for your blood doesn't form...

To be honest, it's the only thing I have ever done. I'm too scared to do it; too many laws can catch you out. BUT, I was very curious about this and where I live and I can't seem to get it anywhere, and it's not on TV... still not right, I know, but....

Even the Lupin the 3rd anime on Adult Swim right now has some good voice acting going.

I usually never watch televised anime. In addition to the dubbing (which I can never stand) they also edit for time and (this last one irks me) content. It always strikes me as America embarrassing itself by doing that. Painting swimsuits on characters and removing blood and all that crap. Grrr. *fluffs up fur*

Oooooo....Anime...

Ranma and Tenchi have to be near the top. :)

Yeah, baby yeah!!! Nice to know there is another Tenchi fan still out there.

What do you think of Gunsmith Cats and Birdy the Mighty, which are two of the other series I really enjoy.

I agree, and i didn't mean to sound like I was bashing subtitles. I just don't like them because they cause me to focus on the bottom of the screen, making me miss out on the action. Minor problem.

Takes some getting used to, but once you get to be a pro its not too big of a problem. Just takes practice. :) Assuming of course the subtitlles are done well and dont flash across the screen at light speed.

Most dubs are horrible, done with the worst (read cheapest) voice actors in the world I think. There are exceptions though. Some have to be watched in subtitled form, some have to be watched dubbed.

Have to watch out for different version of the dubs and subs. Have one movie I bought on dvd that was a different dub job than what I was used to. Ruined the whole movie for me. heh.

Dont know Birdy the Mighty. Have not seen a lot of Gunsmith Cats. What I saw was not bad. I was more familiar with the GC comics.

Bean Bandit was another that was in the GC universe I think. Was nowhere near as good.

Oh...forgot El-Hazard. If you like Tenchi and haven't seen that, you should. Get the original OAV though. The clone series was not as good from what I saw. I feel the same way about Tenchi.

That is so true. Tenchi Muyo! is one of my favorite anime, but I literally cannot stand to hear the dub voices. They cause me to tense up, as though they were nails on a chalkboard.

This is very true. Tenchi is one of the ones that it bothers me most in. I think Adult Swim minimizes this, as I have not noticed any differences between my DVD and the televised version. Lupin the 3rd gets racy, but never raunchy. I have not seen the original though, so its a one sided view.

You won't be seeing any hentai on Adult Swim though, its still PG-13.
