Oh great Crothian, who would be a good one to talk to?

Go post a thread on the Publisher forum. See who responds and try to talk to them.

Are you going to go at it alone or are you going to go through some other company? If your doing it alone you'll need a large amount of money to get them printed. After that distrubution could be a problem as many distibuters might not take a chance on a new guy.

Also, I've got the idea sketched out in my head that if my setting takes off I'd like to do a guide to Hell, a book on the different Immortals(angels, fiends, fey, and possibly genies), books on specific regions, and a soundtrack for the world(something I've noticed no one but WotC has touched on, which I think is greatly overlooked). But that's all in the future and contingent on me getting my material out there and bought.

So remember, if you want to hear me sing, you have to buy my books to make it possible!

Hmm, then that might be a problem, as I don't have scads of money; my problem with going to a big publisher is that I want to be able to maintain creative control over it and work on my own line; if I could find a company that would allow me to just do my line and do my thing, that'd be great. Ya know, hire my own art guy(I've already got one picked out; Chris Villanueva's art not only fits my vision of the world, it helped inspire it!), work on the product and not be interfered with, etc.

Well, like I said post and see what happens. I'm not a publisher, I just pay attention when they talk to me.

Blackshirt, not to be the ogre here or something. But have you let "third parties" look at your stuff? I know you think its awesome (and it might be, I haven't seen it so I cant judge) but are you sure it is awesome? several hardcore books is a lot of effort. It better be worth it!

Don't know yet; it's still in the planning stages. I think I'm gonna end up starting up my own D20 company and printing it myself, ya know?

Woah, that's... a big step to take. I know that just writing Steam & Steel was a fair bit of effort, but starting up a new d20 company & writing an entire setting up at the same time would be a real challenge.

I'm not sure as to the OGL status of Arcana Unearthed stuff, but depending on how much stuff you want to use from it, wont you need permission from Monte & his company to do it?
