Bagpuss, you lucky lucky whatsit, getting to be at that match last night. Fantastic game, even if Man U are now out.

That's "Fantastic game especially because Man U are out now."

As for GenCon security, I found it interesting that they had a bomb scare over a Games Workshop minatures case.... of course if they wanted to know if it was a bomb then talking about it on their radio's within feet of it was a sure fire way to find out.

I know it's like they've never played Cyberpunk or something!

You see, they should make security guards take a course in roleplaying games with certified Rat Bastard dm's, that'd pretty quickly teach them all the nasty ideas villains can come up with as well as what is just a plain bad idea :D

Now that is funny!
:D

It's true though, most rpg players would make excellent security guarsd and security officers because they'd be wise to all the tricks and traps and completely paranoid too ;)

We have to sit through countless classes about unexploded ordinance, and I've still had to yell at people for calling them in over the radio when they're standing right next to them.

Some people just don't think. I've even caught people playing with 'em...knowing full well what they are!

"Hey look what I've got! It's one o' them bomblets from a scatter bomb! Catch!"

The real prize for terrible staff has to go to people selling the tickets for the RPG games.

Conversations went like this...

Me: "Can I get two tickets for Feng Shui at 10am?"

"Feng Shui what's that? Can you just give me the number please."

Or later trying to get a game of CoC.

"8025? I'm sorry that game is sold out."

Me: "How about 8026?" (exactly the same game just a different table)

"Yeah we have some tickets for that game do you want one?" looks at the ticket "Call of Cthulhu what's that?"

I just love these people really love the games they are running a convention for. I'm also not inspired by the fact my RPGA number is actually has DCI# in front of it. DCI is that Duelist Convention for Magic players?
