Well I hope you've learned a valuable lesson. That lesson is, of course, don't go to renaissance fairs.
No, that's not right. He got sick at work. Therefore the lesson is don't go to work, especially after going to renaissance faires. :p
:uhoh: Umm. None of my employees are reading this, right?

Actually, the lesson is:

Don't buy the ludicriously overpriced, inferior food & drink they serve at Ren Fests (at least the KC one).

I spent like $20 bucks on crappy food & was horribly sick for 2 days afterward. Even the Turkeylegs have gone down-hill (make that down-cliff).

LAst year went to Ren-fest in Kansas City. Don't really ever feel the need to go back again. Better ways to spend my money.

If your Ren-fest is better, please let me know. As for KC"s you can safely skip it.

Sorry to hear that. It's been a few years, but I have been to the KC faire a number of times. The food was ok, but I really liked the shows. I'm a big fan of the Jolly Rogers, and I miss a lot of the acts that are no longer there (Maide in the Myddle, Bully Ruse, Shenanigans, Lee Worman) Fortunately, I can catch some of them at Bristol (Molly & the Tinker, Axel the Sot).
And more on topic, Bristol has some garlic mushrooms that I can't get enough of. Mmmmmm. Mushrooms, garlic, onions, and a few seasonings stewed in their own juices. Lunch every day I am at the faire. :) I bring home about 2 gallons each year at the end of the faire. (Must...hold...out...25...more...days)

You have obviously never been to the Maryland Renaissance Festival. The food...soooooo good. Oh goodness. Ummm. I highly reccomend the MDRF. They have an entertaining Joust which is enjoyed by all. (Jousting is the state sport of Maryland.) The shops are always interesting and you can get some good deals if you know where to go.

That and the full service taverns. Also, the multiple performance venues have shows going on all day long including music, comedy, drama, etc.

I'm glad the Bristol faire is still good. I used to go regularly when I lived there. Strangely that one was originally called King Richard's as well. I have no idea if it was the same company.

I don't know. I didn't start going until it became Bristol. (I used to work all summer at a scout camp, so I always missed the entire faire season.)
