Hmm.....non-standard familiar......troll?

Yea....the DM in our epic game was being kinda silly when he let this one go.....we have an epic mage (chosen of mystra) as one player. Another character thought it would be funny to play a 1 HD(child) troll. That goes after anything smaller than it as food. So the mage uses Wish to turn the troll into his familiar. Would this be possible under the rules?

They have Troll listed in Encyclopaedia Arcane: Familiars, gives a +2 on Fortitude saves, I don't really see why it couldn't be possible

Ah. I just thought it was wierd when the 1 HD troll PC suddenly got a huge boost in HP and HD from being a familiar.....granted, this IS an epic game.....i just started with the group that night, and the DM seems to play very loose, i just wondered...

I feel sorry for the troll PC. It's hilarious but he proably sucks at combat and since he's stupid proably cant contribute much anywhere else.

Wait a second! You have an epic wizard AND chosen of Mystra in that group, and someone else plays a 1HD troll?? Isn't there a little too much difference in the power levels?
