Hmmm mage armor and sheild stacks

ZR

First Post
1/ Can you use mage armor with normal magical armor or braces?
2/ Can mage armor stack with itself
3/ Can multiple sheild spells stack.

I say no to all three

You're correct on all three. Bonuses of the same type do not stack (except under very rare, and specified, conditions).

Mage armor, magic armor, and bracers all provide armor bonuses. They do not stack.

Similarly, since the same spell cast multiple times produces the same sort of bonus--an armor bonus or a shield bonus, respectively--they, too, do not stack.

(Edit: Blast! Someone's faster on the draw! ;))

Just to clarify, multiple bonuses from the same spell don't stack, even if they otherwise would (for example, if they are unnamed bonuses).

Actually, You can use all of them at once. But bonuses from each sources do not stack as all of them provide armor bonus to AC.

Sometimes, it is good to have multiple of them. Magic (material) armor will give you the biggest bonus. But unless that armor has Ghost Touch ability, it is useless against incorporeal creatures. On the other hand, Mage Armor and Bracers of Armor are force effects. Thus effective against incorporeal attacks.
