I would like to join a virtual table but since English isn't my native language, not sure people would like it. And French tables are not on my time zone.
Hmm... my French is 30+ years old and would make your ears bleed. You sure you can't find, say, a bilingual group online in Quebec?

Yeah I did 2 or 3 times but those groups fade away after 3-4 sessions. Otherwise, I can take the ForeverDM role again but I did that since the '90s so I would love to play a bit. I don't have time anymore to make prep for games. However, my retirement plan is to write modules. As you might see, I don't have any real difficulties to write in both languages, but speaking it, it's more complicated. I don't have a lot of opportunities at work to train English and Quebec City is still 95%+ French speaking people.

-arrives 15 minutes late with coffee- aw thanks! happy to help and chat with y'all when I can. :)
So.... Australian and New Zealand players want to know what happened to the alt-covers that meant there were so few copies available in Australia. Are you able to find out?

They released a statement saying there was a delayed release date. As another poster stated... are we sure WotC is actually cancelling pre-orders,... that they haven't already implemented a solution... or that the info we received secondhand is accurate? I'll wait until there is more first hand evidence before condemning them on something like this.
My pre-order has been cancelled, due to the retailer not getting it's promiseed allocation. So yes it is WotC unless my retailer and several others are all telling the same lie

It's not a matter of them telling lies - they get their information from their distributor. If their distributor did something wrong (like underorder, or presell copies themselves, or other possibilities) then it's not necessarily on WotC, without any lies. There are multiple ways to not get your order, as a store, without it being the publisher's "fault", exactly. Heck, it could be something that happens "automatically" (at the distributor's end) due to the lateness of the product.

That said, it's probably on WotC underproducing, but much more likely due to unforeseen circumstances. I mean, if WotC could supply them, they certainly would - they want to sell as many as they can! Heck, they might STILL get them to market there, if late. They honestly should seriously consider a reprint, if they still can't make it work any other way.

Vastly underestimating a demand is bad for a company, but it's much much better than overestimating it, and much easier to correct.

I wonder if part of the issue might be that any reprint of the PHB has to wait until the initial print runs for the DMG and MM have been done first.
