Hobgoblin Pickpocket by Scott Purdy.

He made an instructional book on goblinoid art: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Goblinoids-Scott-Purdy/dp/1600611826/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1256813935&sr=1-1]Amazon.com: Goblinoids (9781600611827): Scott Purdy: Books[/ame]

Thanks people - Funny that several pics from "The Red Hand of Doom" appeared, b/c that is the adv I am running now (4e style)...so I have those, but cheers - I like all the art from that book.

Klaus - I actually considered you hobgoblin legionnaire which I had on my computer BTW ;) (I used to have a setting where the hobgobs were Romans too). I really like that art, but it doesn't suit what I am after.

The fact odd hobgobs like the pickpocket and wyrmlord with whip only tells me that 'standard' soldier-like, esp archer hobgobs are rare.

(I have all the MM art too)...so still seeking any obscure art for these guys. For those that googled - did your search turn up mostly Spiderman Hobgoblin art? Maybe that is why other art is hard to find?

Cheers all.

You might try searching on art submission sites. They typically have a search function that let's you hunt around for keywords on picture titles/descriptions.

Here are a couple, keyword "hobgoblin:

deviantART
Elfwood

Results vary; some are D&D-style hobgoblins doing various things, others are more traditional fairytale hobgoblins.. but there's quite a bit to pick through on each site.

This thread reminded me that there aren't very many pictures out there of female hobgoblins, a problem I ran into when I wanted to play one about 6 months ago :(

I did hobgoblin art for all MM1 and MM2 variations for Fiery Dragon's Counter Collections (Heroic 1 and Heroic 2).

They're not Roman at all.

@ Klaus - I meant my homebrew campaign had hobgobs as Roman-like and your art was perfect.

@ Orc within - not much luck on those sites, though I did find something else I have been searching for - mounted goblins. A very good pick in fact and an awesome bugbear pic.
