It seems you are right: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1079959/ . And what's best is that they have casted Christopher Lee as the voice of Death. He played it in the animated version of Soul Music and I was a bit disappointed when he wasn't in Hogfather.

Don't be, Ian Richardson is terrific as Death. Personally, I think he does melancholy better than Christopher Lee (not to put Mr. Lee down, but he's better at angry and menacing). Christopher Lee might make a good Patrician come to think of it.

Yeah I did like him in Hogfather. It's just that after seeing Soul Music and Wyrd Sisters I was kind of stuck with the idea of Lee being Death. Now that you mention it he would definetly make good Patrician :D .

For those still interested, I noticed ION is showing it again December 23rd. Note that it is 4 hours (originally 2 2-hour shows) and I thought it felt very long when seen in one sitting.

Thank you for mentioning this - I paid a quick visit to Borders and now have my own copy of Hogfather. :D

Apparently they cut out a lot of the bonuses that were on the UK DVD. I wonder if the later non-exclusive release will have them reinstated.

Hello all

I bought and watched the DVD...I really enjoyed it. As a big fan of Discworld in general and Hogfather in particular, I thought they did a great job. The story has all the elements, though the order in which they're presented is a bit rearranged...not for the worse, happily. The performances are, almost to a one, spot on.

While adding to the chorus that Susan, Teatime and Death are excellently portrayed, I also want to say that Ridcully was also really well done, I thought...especially considering how little screentime he has out of the whole affair.

The only 'complaint' I have is that the plotline where excess "leftover" belief is causing new personifications to spring haphazardly into existence is really introduced too late in the show, I thought...and thus characters like Bilious and the involvement of the wizards are very much 11th hour things, and underdeveloped. I think I can see why they did it...since those things lead to Susan...er...no spoils, I guess...going to where she needs to be, and things unravel fast at that point. Still, if I hadn't been familiar with the story already, I might have been pretty confused by how that was all handled.

Not to take away from it though, because it was overall a great show!
