Holy Cow! Wizards delegates...

I am officially old. This holds no interest for me. :)

I can't imagine meeting these (admittedly light) requirements:

Delegates will be expected to eventually know all Wizards of the Coast products and programs.

A Delegate is required to visit 3 retail locations each month. While there, the Delegate should answer questions about WOTC products and programs, and ask if the store has any ongoing issues with WOTC support. If there are any open issues, the Delegate should help store management contact the appropriate WOTC personnel to solve these issues. A Delegate is required to submit a report after each visit.

If I were still 25 and single, I'd think it was SCHWEEET! :D

Spend all of your week-ends working and receiving consumer complaints for free!
Receive one booster of each release and then learn all the other product that goes with it for free!
Provide Wizards with customer service and market research *and* public relations for virtually free!

Yay?

Meh. It looks like you get a bit of stuff from ten different games. I don't find that much interesting; the vast majority of the stuff would be useless to me. How many people are interested in six different CCGs, two miniatures games, D&D and 5 board games?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding things when the announcement talks about "displays" and "cases", but this sounds like a rather large amount of free stuff for running demos. That's a lot of cards and minis.

I sent them an e-mail last night. I find it rather interesting. If for no other reason than getting out of the house and meeting people. I already do customer service work so I have no problem with the whiners... I know how to deal with people like that. (Now I just need to find new places to hide the bodies.)

I sent along a couple of questions.

Do you need your own transportation? What is an appropriate venue? (Actually the last was sent off as two questions, but that's what they boil down to.) I hope to get answers in a few days.

You're breaking ranks, soldier!

So let's see... They get people to "volunteer" to be sales reps, customer service reps and pollsters in locations throughout the world. You have to work at least 3 days a month (you know they are going to jack that up as the program expands) and you have to put up with all the crap fanboys and the like will give you.

All of this and you get paid jack squat. Not a fair trade if you ask me. All those games don't make up for it. Ya! I get free stuff! Crap! I have no time to play ANY of it because I'm too busy playing "volunteer."
