Homebrew: What gods am I missing?

Does anyone have any suggestions for other gods I should include?

The biggest one that I think you are missing is Crafts and making things. In fact, if you want to keep an even 10, I'd turn your god of Wealth into a god of Crafts. You also might want to think about turning your god of Wealth into a hidden god of Greed... :)

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Keep them coming.

God of Nature, and of Crafts - missed those - thanks.

For fertility/procreation I was going to have people split that among the three "H" gods - Heart, Health and Hearth.

A bit more background: The world I am creating has several different religions. The ones I am asking for your help on are one particular pantheon for one particular region of the world, the entire pantheon is essentially one single religion. These gods are not big on direct involvement in the world. There is a creation myth, but whether it is truly the way the world was created is a matter of faith. Clerics say and believe they receive the power from the gods, and so the people believe it to be so. They say the proof is that Clerics who no longer believe the gods are the source of their power lose that power - but perhaps it is just their own doubt that steals it from them.

I am trying to stay away from setting these gods along the basis of alignment. I don't see these gods as having one set alignment. Hence the God of wealth can be prayed to by those looking to make enough coin to feed their family, as well as by the Merchant who is trying to score big.

I am not limiting myself to a particular number of gods, but at the same time I am trying to avoid having 30 or 40 gods covering every little thing. For some small things, one of the existing gods may take care of it, for example the God of battle covers war, sports, games - basically any form of contest pitting one against another.

Sorry, these gods are very utilitarian and contrived - because that is what fits these particular people, but I welcome other ideas that I might work into other lands the party may travel to.

We already covered fertility and sexuality.

I think there have already been plenty of good suggestions. I think you're covered. However, I can not resist bloviating so....

* It would be interesting if the god of healing was evil. As in, a peasant brings his plaugue-stricken son to the temple of healing and is turned away because he can only cough up a pathetic 2gp. Frankly, I reccomend this. I have seen far too many worlds with so-called "good" gods of healing that charge 100gp/spell level. That's insane.

* Fey powers. Don't forget forest spirits and whatnot. If you're going to have a pantheon of more than a dozen gods, toss these guys in. You wouldn't have one god of nature, you'd have hundreds. Might be a nice flavor touch.

* Far powers. Gods who are alien to human thought, yet they have found there way to human dimensions. They seem insane, yet by their standards, it is humans who are incomprehensible.

... happy gaming!

I'm a lazy DM. When I design gods, generally I design nine gods, one for each alignment, then I call it good. More gods can "appear" as the campaign goes on, however.

*Note to self: need god of irony*

I suggest Murphy or Murphieus, alignment LE or LN. Murphy's canon is called Murphy's Law. :p

Often a god of "Fertility" applies to agriculture as well as birthing.

Personaly, I don't see why a god of death has to remain hidden. Not all death gods were evil (Osirus is considered good in fact in egyption mythology). I always liked the concept of a Neutral god of Death, simply a collector and protector of souls as they pass on into the afterlife (Usually the function of a god of the dead).

Need a god of Nature, also one of magic. A god of crafts can go in with the arts god. A god of trade is also good.

I would split the battle gods into 3 different gods. One good "Protector" god (God of Battle), one neutral god of competition (God of Conflict), and one evil god of the darker side of war (God of War).

Just a few thoughts.
