D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

, to be honest, given that we're staring down a coming environmental apocalypse of our own making in the real world? Making a statement that too advanced of civilizations constantly kill itself off is certainly a viable take in fiction.
All the more reason to avoid the trope. Inevitability feeds into innaction.

To paraphrase Tolkien, People domt need stories to tell them that dragons exist. we need them to tell us that dragons can be defeated.

I will always push for stories where the protagonists are genuinely capable of making the world better. Esp in D&D.

Meh. There's a million reasons and ways they can write it to inspire instead of discourage. Or they could phrase it as a kind of Renassiance instead.

As long as people aren't using the racist/sexist/etc ones, I don't think tropes need to be avoided.
