Homunculus?

One of my PC's want to become a Lich and be able to create a Homunculus. As far as I know, neither of these options are actually available. Does anyone have anything to do either of these? I'm thinking that I could just whip up a ritual Homunculus if need be, but I'm interested in what everyone else has.

I would make Lich an epic destiny (after all, it's supposed to make you "immortal"). You can consider the character from Level 21 to 30 to be in the process of transformation, becoming more and more cadaverous. When they "achieve immortality" they die and rise again as a skeletal archmage.

With all the epic destinies published so far, you should be able to find or make up appropriate powers.

Lich is definitely suited to an epic destiny, and it's probably one you'll have to create yourself.

Homonculus could be based on the level 6 ritual in Open Grave that lets you create a non-combat undead, or follow the same basic principle as the beast companions of rangers in Martial Power.

I'd go the beastmaster route too.

Unlike a familiar which is just a caster enhancer, a homunculus is supposed to be a lot more useful. I'd make it be a spy and fetcher of items that can do things for the lich that it can't do, as well as assisting it in combat.
