Honeymarsh Academy (D&D3.5) Chapter 2

(OOC: Wow, have we had dropouts? Let me know! I kept waiting to see if anyone else would post...It's not like they didn't have anything to do in the game! :))

init repost:
Arvin +7: 27
Bahuma +1: 21
Gorosk (goblin barbarian) +3: 18
Yarin +3: 17
Kytheria +2: 14
Bartlin +3: 13
Alek +4: 12
Seeks the Darkness +0: 1

Arvin crosses the remaining distance of the cavern and lands one of his swords heavily against the goblin barbarian. The goblin is now looking around for an opening, as more and more of you surround him.

Arvin's sword hits and does 12 damage. The goblin is now down to 27 hp.

Bahuma charges to close the gap, axe swinging. "Feel its bite goblin!" the half-giant shouts.
The goblin ducks this time, and Bahuma's axe- now crackling with dissolving energy-- misses.

The goblin seizes the moment to try and make his escape. He sidesteps Arvin, and then turns and runs between Yarin and Bahuma.

OOC: He takes a 5' step from C5 to D4, which removes him from Arvin. Then he breaks and runs through Yarin and Bahuma's threat zones. Both Yarin and Bahuma get an attack of opportunity.

Yarin stabs at the barbarian with his dagger as he runs past, heading for the north passage. Yarin misses, But Bahuma brings his axe down as the goblin runs, slashing him grievously. The goblin drops to the ground with a gasp, his wounds crackling with acid.

Bahuma's AoO does 28 points of damage, which slays the goblin.

The goblin is dead.. what now?

"Bahuma does not miss twice goblin," says the half-giant,who pats his axe, as though it were a nice creature. "Her minions do seem quite remarkable, and eager..." he says.

Bartlin: Queens Knight 6

Bart sits down and looks at the dead goblins. "They were a bit tougher than the normal." He starts looking over the room searching for everything usable. "Can someone check the bodies? Even the hog may have something useful to us."

Arvin will take 20 on a Search check on each body. (20+8=28)

Arvin barks out orders, his voice showing a little pain. "Someone keep watch. There are bound to be more of the hag's goons lurking in these tunnels! Kyteria, see to the wounded before we are attacked again."

Seeker smiles knowingly. Eh, he earned it. He thinks as he advances to the northern passage and keeps an eye out, sword in hand.

"Keep on your toes everyone. Our situation could change at any moment."

OOC: Maintaining both auras (+3 morale bonus to Reflex saves and +1 morale bonus to AC)
Seeker will Take 10 on his Listen checks (Listen +0)

Yarin moves to watch the East tunnel since he doesn't seem to be needed elsewhere.

OOC: Not dropped out... just didn't manage to post, oh well.

Ok, Arvin checks the bodies.
From what you can salvage:

The goblin barbarian had a magic greataxe (size small), a composite longbow, about 18 arrows and a quiver, a dagger, and was wearing a +1 breastplate decorated with a wolf and leopard motif. He had a satchel that held a climbers kit, a potion of delay poison, and a Guardinal Quince (a fruit that gives the equivalent of potion of cure moderate wounds when eaten).

The goblin druid had a (small) masterwork sling and a (small) masterwork cold iron scimitar. He was wearing small sized +1 hide armor.

There is a treasure chest tucked into a niche behind the water basin on the south side of the cave. It contains 120 platinum (stamped with the same symbol as the rest of the coins you've picked up so far). And a paper packet of some kind of greenish sparkling powder. The packet says in common "Madame Mystere's Extraordinary Glamer" and contains some simple instructions. Your'e pretty sure it's 3 doses of dust of illusion.

There are corridors to the north and to the east!

Bahuma regains his psionic focus. Yarin guards the corridor to the east.

Seeks the Darkness maintains his aura power, and listens at both corridors. He can hear a faint strain of music coming from the north passage.

OOC: what should we do about the people who disappeared?

Arvin carefully catalogues the loot.

"Most of this looks about your size Bart. How do you all want to pack this up for transport? Can that big bug of yours carry this stuff Bart?"

Arvin steps back from the pile and waits to see if anyone has preferences.

"The potions and powder might come in handy, but whatever Bart doesn't need can be stashed for now if you ask me."

OOC: Peter, do we really need the absent players? If their absence screws us over then I vote we either NPC them, or recruit new players. We could fall back and "send the NPC's back to school"
That would leave an opening for new players to join, or for the rest of s to just go on without them.
