Honeymarsh Academy (D&D3.5) Chapter 2

Yarin stands quietly waiting for the others to respond to his idea for a few moments then, seeing Seeker begin to search the room joins in.

OOC: Since I have the better bonus when it comes to search (I think) I'll do the search check and Seeker can aid another on me. If that's alright?
ooc: Don't forget to take 20. There is nothing preventing us from taking our time searching.
Bartlin will help with the search (adding +2 to yarins 20+ search)

"Yes, and I would like to rest... and heal," the half-giant says, putting a hand over his wounds and his badly-stained armor. "I suggest we turn him over to the academy. Perhaps he can be turned over to the Kingdom of the Fey. I suspect that our adversary has a rather.... nasty history."

*Alek dusts pats the dust off himself and moves to where the rest of the party are standing over the fallen fae*

"It might be in our best intrest to remove his cap as well, I believe the item to be some sort of fetish for the creature, if nothing else it's a good bargaining chip if it gets unruly about the questioning. Given the status of the fey that requested the helmet, I have an idea that there may be some court intrigue afoot. This makes my contact less valuable, but perhaps there's an instructor with whome we could speak about how to get in contact with the Unseelie court and poke around rther for evidence, or at least research conflicts between the Seelie and Unseelie courts known to have happened within this island. All that after restocking our supplies and questioning that murderous little scrapper. Any qualms?"

Kytheria

Making sure the small fey is safe and out of harms way, Kytheria will then move around the group, healing the ones who need it. "I will heal you, friend. Your axe is impressive. I wish never to be on the recieving end of that shaft." She smiles as she heals the axe-wielding half-giant.

[sblock]Will heal the ones who need it, preferably using light heal wounds, if that is enough.[/sblock]

Arvin begins giggling uncontrollably. "Me either!"

OOC: Sorry, the double entendre was just too much to bear!

(lol)

Ok, first some OOC nonsense: Yarin and Seeker thoroughly scour and search the shop but don't find much- the potion flasks are mostly empty or contain precursors or 'mixer' type potion ingredients that aren't very useful or tasty.

Yarin finally discovers something kind of weird. Hidden under the counter is a tangle of twigs bound in a strange shape, tied with red thread and adorned with polished teeth and glittering insectlike wings. It is some kind of talisman.

Only Alek (knowledge Arcana) and Kytheria (knowledge Religion) have a chance to identify this item.

Kytheria looks it over closely, but can't quite place it. Alek can't place it either.

DC 25
Kytheria (K: Religion +10): 12
Alek (K: Arcana +11): 23

"It's a.. well obviously it's a... thingy of some sort."
"some kind of..."
"yeah.. "
"what do you call those?"
"I think it's called a .. uh.."

Nobody is sure what it is.

The alchemical gear is worth some 250 gold.

The fey is bound. The party is healed.

CHAPTER II

You are all gathered in the chamber of the Creature Studies Lab. It's a large, reinforced chamber of huge metal brackets and braces over stone. A variety of empty cages and magical protection circles are enscribed here. A strange stone table with a band of metal in the middle- large enough to hold an overweight ogre or a small hill giant is located in the center of the room. Osbry is directing a pair of headless constructs, who are struggling in with a sheet of rusty blackened iron.

"I'm pretty sure this is safe." Osbry mentions. "I saw Winterfell bind a pit fiend here last summer. So I imagine our little friend will be quite well accomodated."

Winterfell is the headmaster of adavanced arcane studies. Alek has seen him on a couple of occaisions levitiating through the halls, followed by a skeletal servant named Rutledge. Winterfell is an impatient and humorless teacher, that most of the arcane students suspect of having an aspiration to lichdom.

"Ah yes. A little more to the right.. now bolt it on.. very good."

The headless constructs begin bolting on the iron slab to the table using massive metal shafts and linchpins. Osbry produces a pair of masterwork iron manacles.

"This will do. It'll have to be quick."

The redcap is still unconscious, but is now tightly bound by Arvin's rope. He is quickly bound down to the iron table by the masterwork manacles. (You -one of you- has the redcaps hat as well)
Osbry puts on his glasses.

"Invucuris Claid. I recognize him now. One of the most brutal fey on the island. "

"Well, go ahead, wake him up and ask him what you like..."

DM: ok, let me know what you'd like to do/say/ask....

OOC: Bahuman-- They fey is still unconscious! I left him that way so I would know how much he was healed by the time you were ready to talk to him. (i.e: you would have to say how he was being brought back to consciousness!)

But that's ok! haha, all this shaft humor is starting to remind me of my tabletop campaign.

Osbry peers at the unconscious redcap. "I don't think he heard you.."
