An idea just came to me, and I wanted to get some opinions on it:
What if, instead of +1 to every stat, humans had that bard ability where they added half of their proficiency bonus to ability checks they weren't already proficient in? Would that be balanced against other racial packages? What if it also included attack rolls and saving throws, in addition to just ability checks?
This is for a homebrew setting where the bard class does not exist in the form that it is printed, so there's no risk of conflicting with that. It's also a no-feat game, so don't worry about the variant human option.
