How Come There Is No "Wish" Spell?

Glad it's gone. But then I should have known it was gone by the fact that XP isn't an expendable resource anymore. How could they make it a normal spell without making it lame? I'm perfectly happy with Wish being a special plot device spell.

Yep, when I had my chat with David Noonan Saturday night he confirmed wish is gone – thank god.

IMHO a wish should be a rare and magical thing -- not something that you can plan on casting 5/day once you hit level 17.

Maybe that was okay back when nobody ever hit level 17, but it's practical to run games at that level in 3.5e, so wish needs to be fixed.

Is anybody sad there's no "wish"? The ultimate spell, the most powerful thing you can cast, the expression of supreme power that every wizard aspires to is... gone?

The whole "replacing every other spell" was just kind of lame. Wish was always more of a plot device to us, so I will definitely not miss it.

I'm glad wish is gone. If I had my way resurrection magic would be gone too...or at least strongly altered.
