How did you celebrate NY Eve?

Played some games, watched some tv, eat way to much.

than set up the soundsystem, and started playing 80's disco at extreme volumes until the street in front of the house looked like a dancing. After that we waited for the forebrigade to show up and put out the garbage container that was set aflame by some party poopers.

My wife and I got together with our Guild mates and had a black-tie affair, Muder-Mystery New Year's Eve Bash.

Quite fun, and memorable - caviar, deviled olives, chutney, prime rib, champagne... aggh , the champagne *holding head* :D

Umm...burying beer in the snow...drinking the beer...watching people spill others' drinks...watching my sis' BF eat fried rice off his shirt and promptly pass out...finding next morning a kitchen floor that feels suspiciously like the floor of a frathouse. Ahh, good times.

And the traditional New Years Eve playing of the unedited In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida ;).

I ran a D&D game for my wife, my friends Andy and Sandy and their nearly-7-year-old-son Connor. It was Connor's first "real" D&D game with a real DM and the first 3 rooms kind of freaked him out even though there was no combat! :) I guess I did a good job of describing a "lich" that they were going to be encountering later on. We finished up today and we all had a good time.

Since my grandparents were up from Florida for the holidays for the first time in about 20 years, I spent the evening at home. We all watched the extended version of LotR (well, except my grandfather, who fell asleep :D) and I'm happy to say my grandmother thought it was great. :)

Other than that, not much...

Happy new year!

I played The Great Dalmuti. In German, because the English version was sold out, so it actually was Der Grosse Dalmuti.

Then the clock struck twelve and I started working on getting really pissed. Nice Chamapgne then switched to Malibu/Bitter Lemon. Danced a bit, had a few conversations. Not as spectacular as my last couple of new years, but it was very nice.

Warning: contains SPOILERS for Philadelphia

Early: Dinner at the Royal Tavern on Passayunk Ave {right next to Low bar}. The duck club sandwhich on no less the 3 slices of thinly-sliced rye is outstanding.

Later: New Years Eve celebration at Tritone {South Street between 15th and 16th}. A few friends, many strangers, loud rock and roll DJ sets, vodka, shouting to be heard, did I mention vodka?? Fun, fun, fun...

Late: drinking sake and eating Japanese stew at {you were expecting an address? It was somebdoy's house...}. Until about 3:30.. when it was clearly --fuzzily?-- time to stop celebrating...

Wishing everyone here a happy New Year,
--SJC

We had another couple over for an elegant, quiet dinner at home. The meal consisted of crab dip as an appetizer; Caesar salad with homemade dressing and croutons; beef tenderloin; asparagus with hollandaise sauce; and baked potatoes with all the fixings. We had a lovely bottle of Mondavi Merlot with dinner, followed by champagne and a cherry chambord desert. Yummy!!

Then we played board games in front of the fireplace and waited for the ball to drop at midnight. Mellow, but nice.
