Early December 2006, a co-worker was in line at Target around 5am. He called me up, I picked up some coffee at his request, then I popped in line in front of him. We got tickets about an hour before the store opened, went out to breakfast, then came back to get our consoles.
Technically, I had a Wii in my possession on launch day. I went to Circuit City at about 7am, got a reservation ticket, then picked it up at 11am along with Zelda and a classic controller. However, the Wii was for a friend who just had knee surgery and couldn't go out to wait in line, and I wasn't able to snag a second console at launch for myself.
